wednesday's weekly pick: kello

As we’ve been scouring stores, blogs, and websites looking for some of the most unique, highest quality healthy home products to share with our guests, we’ve fallen in love with a bunch of other products that, unfortunately, don’t make sense for us to sell right now, or maybe ever. That being said, we’re sure you’ll love them as much as we do, so we wanted a way to share. Welcome to Wednesday’s Weekly Pick.

this week’s pick: kello

kello :: sleep trainer + alarm clock

what is it?
Kello is a product we found on kickstarter, so unfortunately it is not available for sale quite yet (we’re hoping to make it available here when it is!). That being said, you’ve still got about 15 days (as of the date this was posted) to back their crowdfunding campaign!

So what is Kello? Well, to put it simply, it’s an alarm clock and speaker.

what does it do?
It’s not fair to Kello, however, to put things so simply. In reality, Kello is not merely an alarm clock and speaker, but a sleep trainer. It helps you fall asleep faster, wake up earlier, hit snooze less (my biggest personal problem), and create healthy sleep rhythms and habits.

To help you fall asleep faster, it helps you adjust your breathing patterns to a more relaxed state which will allow you to fall asleep.

When it comes to waking up earlier, Kello can gradually move your wake up time up day-after-day, which allows your body to slowly adjust and re-train itself into a new schedule.

As for the “snooze less” option, Kello will actually limit the amount of times you use the snooze button in a week. This, I’m sure, will end up being my best friend and worst enemy, all at the same time.

Kello is controlled from your phone, and will also wake you up with the music (and music app) of your choice, which truly gives you a complete and pleasant wake up experience.

why do we love it?
While we’re all aware of the impact our sleep has on our work, days, and families, we often feel a little helpless when it comes to actually doing something about it. Think about it, most of us have either said, “Yeah, it usually takes me a couple of hours to fall asleep,” or, “I’m just not a morning person.” The worst parts of these types of statements are that they’re both just something we’re utterly resigned to. To think that an alarm clock can actually affect those types of changes in my life really excites me.

Aside from all of the cool features, Kello has a great form factor. I’ve always been a sucker for a well-designed product, and Kello definitely fits the bill there too.

Great design, great features? What’s not to love?
